MotoPeaks was born from passion for exploration. Our mission is straightforward.
We inspire you to discover new routes leading to spectacular peaks and passes around the world.
By providing knowledge, tools, advice, and sharing stories within the community, we help you plan your next epic journey. MotoPeaks is a place where every trip begins with a dream and ends with a remarkable achievement.
My name is Arek, and I’ve been riding motorcycles for almost 20 years. During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to ride in a variety of incredible places around the world. Motorcycle travel is my favorite way to explore new destinations, and the East—both near and far Asia—holds a special fascination for me.
The idea for MotoPeaks has its roots in a trip to Pakistan with two close friends of mine, Arek and Rafał, with whom I’ve been riding for years. Together, we explored the towering peaks of three breathtaking mountain ranges—the Karakoram, Himalayas, and Hindu Kush—on rented Suzuki 150 motorcycles.
For those interested in mountaineering, the concept of Polish Winter Himalayan Climbing might sound familiar. This term was first introduced in 1973, when Andrzej Zawada and Tadeusz Piotrowski summited Noshaq (7,492 m), the second-highest peak in the Hindu Kush. Inspired by this, we came up with a moto-specific twist: Polish Summer Moto-Himalayan Climbing.
This unconventional idea was born at the foot of Masherbrum (K-1), a mountain standing 7,821 m tall, on the morning of September 5, 2022. We jokingly imagined, and later posted on Facebook, that we had summited Masherbrum on our motorcycles. As the fictional account in our post read:
“Three daredevils summited K-1 at sunrise on September 5, 2022, on Suzuki 150 motorcycles during a daring two-hour ascent and descent. Thus, the first chapter of Polish Summer Moto-Himalayan Climbing was written. We had Kukuczka, we have Bargiel, and now there’s us.”
The post was so convincing that about 5% of the people who read it seemed to hesitate—wondering, “Did they really ride motorcycles to such an altitude?” Some even asked technical questions about how it was done! Of course, it was all a joke, but it planted a new idea in our minds: What are the actual highest roads in the world where motorcycles can go?
This curiosity sparked a mission. My solo trip to Turkey, where I aimed to ride as high as possible on Mount Ararat—the country’s tallest peak—was a direct result of this newfound inspiration. It was during this trip that the concept of MotoPeaks truly took shape.
MotoPeaks was born from a passion for discovering and conquering the world’s highest motorcycle-accessible routes.
